The aim of the project was to design a device that would allow people with single below elbow amputations to row. The novel adaptive rowing device developed for sculling is composed of two elements: the prosthetic and AUTOFOLD (AUTOmatic Feathering Oar Lock Device). The prosthetic transmits linear motion between the stump and the oar and is composed of a silicon liner attached to a custom made fibre glass prosthetic. AUTOFOLD couples a vertical displacement of the oar handle with a 90 degree blade rotation
